Smelling Salts

Deep-night-thoughts.

Tossing and turning aside,

I got up and sat in the office.

That’s where

business is conducted, but

prayers folded and

peace broke up

like tempered glass.

Silence isn’t always golden.

The dogs, like smelling salts,

came wanting; waiting for me

to come to.

A couple of consciences

prying mine open.

I thank God for dogs.

Perfect hymn, Amy. Onward and upward into a year with further up and further in!

Yes..a dog certainly keeps me from sleeping too long. That wet nose in the face will get me up.Say a little prayer for me, I am so very slowly recovering from a head injury from 10/3/25, when a 10 foot long piece of PVC jumped out of brackets 7 feet up and fell on my head. Neurologist says I have a long road to recovery. Medication he gave me is supposed to rewire my brain. Several friends say if it works, they want some. Merry Christmas to you and your family..still 12 kids? You probably have grand kids now too. It is 13 years ago when we met at a writers conference.

Yes, Noreen, over a decade. So sorry to hear of your incident. Prayers that the meds will have complete effect! 4 grands and one on the way! We’re loving being grandparents!
