Dogs don’t lie; they lie around.

Ever simple, not profound

They age like us, unaware,

And I began to stare.

The show didn’t hold sway.

I kept looking away…

To Archie of the eyes slit

And smug smile lit.

Another framed peace

By a dog gone with ease.

He laid down with a sigh,

And closed each eye.

As I scratched behind my ear,

Thoughts stretched to hear

What a canine had to teach.

A sleeping dog will preach.

Sabbath? Siesta? Serenity?

The imminence of eternity?

I Thanked God

For this dog.

Your dog shared a profound insight because you were ready to listen.
My climbing beans taught me something interesting this summer. While they appreciated my efforts at watering the plants and keeping them green through a lengthy drought, they didn’t thrive till we had a full day of gentle rain. That’s when a multitude of blossoms appeared. Protect nature from human incursions so it can look after itself and bless us in the process.

I’ve missed your writing. They don’t seem to be showing up in my feed. (I’m getting hungry to read more.)

I’ve been on a different track lately, so I have to be purposeful about writing. Thank you. I will try to feed you better, even if it’s mac and cheese.
