Fire that warms
a lonely soul
has taken a toll.

They covered with blankets
not to find warmth
but to insulate
from a passing hell.

They fell asleep
underneath
the line of fire.

Fire that warms
a lonely soul
has left more lonely still.

A fire that no one can hold
Makes it way where loved ones abode.

Young men intercede at flames door
Working incessantly till their is no more.

What is a man who lays down his soul
To save another whom they do not know.

Forget not what the fourth of July else we lost,
It’s lavish spectacle our eyes to wonder,
But it has been made with many asunder,
the greatest of these the cross.

We are not merely grains of sand,
No my friend and all is not over,
For the Land of the Free and the Home of the Brave,
It is they who reside in the Fathers Hands.

A fire that no one can hold
Makes it way where helplessness abode.

The brave intercede at flames door
Fighting incessantly till they are no more.

Why does a man give up all they own
To rescue another whom they do have not known?

The reason we celebrate the fourth shall not fade,
The lavish night skies can never overshadow the grave.

This day was founded not by might and thunder,
but extraordinary hero’s who for us have fallen asunder.

We are not merely grains of sand,
Nor is this the end of life,
For the Land of the Free and the Home of the Brave,
Is given to us by those who rest in the Fathers Hands.
