As one who works outside for a living, seeing the effects of wind over a warm bath called Lake Michigan, I am tempted to call my mom and ask her to dress me for the day.

Snow pants.

Mittens with a string.

Over boots with buckles.

Scarf.

Jacket buttoned all the way up…

or zipped up(often getting caught and stuck in the material).

Stocking cap or a robber’s mask…

Two eye holes and a mister Bill circle for a mouth.

I will hear all day long comments and questions.

“How are the roads?”

“Lovely weather.”

“Pretty cold eh?…you poor thing.”

Response:

Slippery.

Beautiful.

No worries, my mom dressed me today…but don’t tell her I took off the mittens with a string.

Sure is beautiful out there…better go get dressed.

Entwining the past with the present is beautifully crafted. You took me along. It is beautiful, and the roads are slippery. You poor thing
