Edges

It was interchangeable,

sunrise or sunset

and that was o.k.

I love the edges of a day.

It could have been

Lake Michigan

or Lake Gogebec

and that was just fine.

I love the shores all  the time.

There might have been

breezes wandering

or blades of green at attention

I would be content there.

Just sitting without a care.

When watercolor takes its ease

whether at the birth of a new day

or the last tear of the sun on the sand,

my soul is moistened along the edges.

Great not to have any cares and just sit and stare a while. Nicely written!

i used to paint watercolors – not very good though…but i just love how they flow and the effects you can create..the edges of a day..beautiful jerry…sometimes the moments are just that perfect that the details are not so important…i understand the feeling you capture here

Oh, I like this, Jerry. I had a day exactly like this yesterday. And I’m working on a poem about a pianting I saw yesterday that captured what happened. But I think I like yours better.

“my soul is moistened along the edges”, love that line. Art and beauty do impact the soul. Enjoyed this piece.

The first two stanzas are excellent, an ethereal feeling of being disconnected from the world emotionally, whilst feeling it physically. The third stanza is a dip for me, a bit ‘off’, if that’s the right word, within the context of the poem. i think you could have done without it.
