We’re heading to Mars

And I’m taking the lead.

It’s not too far

If we go at light speed.

*

I’ve been there before,

It’s no big deal.

Only a ball of rocks,

And planet appeal.

*

Yeah, it’s cold and dusty,

Not a good spot to stay.

Some think it’s a bit rusty,

But I like to play

*

On the hills and boulders,

Climb up and slide down

It’s slumped red shoulders.

Then comes your gasp and a frown.

*

Dakota, be careful, not too far.

You think this is a playground

To leap high like a star.

Come back and come down.

*

Please, just a little while.

Look at all the twinkled stars!

This place is just my style,

Because its slippery on mars.
