Passing

This too shall pass,

white noise driving by

slicing through silence.

The quiet folds in again

and the difference

leaves deference.

In a gray chair by

the window is place.

Come, sit by the pane

and gather thoughts

like each passing car

sweeping leaves.

What’s your hurry?

What’s your worry?

Stay and pray.

This too shall pass.

When we simply sit and observe, our mind starts to see and ask questions.

I love the image of “slicing through silence. The quiet folds in again.”

That line jolted my imagination to see more of what is not visible to the eye.

Your thoughtful comments are so encouraging. I’m trying to get back in the grove of writing everyday. This helps!

So often I get a passing thought as I go about my day. It would simply disappear if I don’t make a note of it. Later I’ll come back to it and wonder where that idea came from.

Thanks for your time and thoughts.
