Drenching

Sullen clouds,

shuffling,

scraping

their underbellies

on the tree line,

spilling rain.

They dredge

the tang of summer’s

possessive heat.

Twin moans of

thunder

and I am

wet with peace.

Love your word pictures, Jerry. Makes me see and feel what it must be like out there for my husband and crew on the Chicago-Mac race.
“Dredge the tang of summer’s possessive heat” — great picture.
Thank you for sharing! Blessings, Teresa

Thanks Theresa. It’s still coming down here in Kazoo. I would love to see what sailors do in pouring rain. Happy Sunday!

Thanks for your time and thoughts.
